I came across those farmers in Binh Dinh, when tour guiding in Vietnam on the road from Nah-Trang to Hoi-An. The women were drying and sorting the rice while the men were bringing it from the fields. In the distance, there was this advertising billboard of a bank praising their benefits “Agricultural and rural development bank: bring prosperity to customers” just faceless while the women were risking their life on the motorway.

I was amazed at their courage and their strength and also admired their ability to endure such hard work in such heath. They had to cover themselves from head to toe to protect themselves from insects and dust. Faceless and nameless, I decided to keep that approach in my project.

On top of all that they always had a smile for me which made me want to portray them as courageous and righteous people, this encouraged me to tell their story.
